Utility Workers Affiliation Will Strengthen Professional and Technical Workers

In May 2008, the Utility Workers affiliated with the Department for Professional Employees, AFL-CIO (DPE), becoming the 25th national union to do so. “For us, this affiliation just makes sense,” UWUA President D. Michael Langford said. “Operational engineers at National Grid joined us. Chemists and engineers at the Suffolk County Water Authority joined us. As we reach out to professional and technical workers in the electric, gas, nuclear, water, and service industries, our affiliation with DPE offers us organizational support and one more reason for professional workers to join us.”

Entergy CEO gets raise - to $26.2 million

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Entergy has announced the annual shareholders. I am very sure that you will not be surprised to hear that it is again a good year to be CEO. Wayne has received a pay raise. Wayne Leonard's total compensation increases from a staggering $14.8 million to an astonishing $26.2 million dollars.

Please take a minute to see the information for yourself - see table on page 22. Additionally, you find Local 369 proxy proposal listed as item 3 on page 47.

Entergy and the Board of Directors recommends that you vote AGAINST Local 369 proposal. Entergy claims requires the current scheme to "motivate" Wayne. If you are interested in going to the shareholders meeting and standing up in support of our proposal, let us know.
